I wasn't thrilled with having to get a new power supply but it's soooo worth it so do yourself a favor and get a new power supply AND this graphics card at the same time to install at the same time. It does need a power supply that can handle it so do what I did and make sure you got something that handles 48 amps total. I love to play COD MW2 and BF2 and Fallout 3 with all the settings on MAX! Even under the most intense graphics on the screen, not one glitch or lag or anything noticeable! It's pretty quiet even when I'm playing for many hours! I'm a hard core gamer and I've had this for several months now and I LOVE IT! I was trying to see where the happy middle ground is between these and I'm happy to say THIS IS IT! The 275 equals the 280 and even exceeds it in some areas while is remarkably affordable!

You definitely want an aftermarket cooler for the CPU even with just one of these as well as a side fan blowing directly on it.īFG GeForce GTX 275 OverClocked 896MB - SLI ReadyIf you're like me, you're trying to decide between best deal and price vs quality and performance. Since the memory is clocked at 1.134 GHz, and utilizes 448 bit bus, the effective memory bandwidth is 127.01 GB/s. The GeForce GTX 275 embeds 896 MB of GDDR3 memory. It also sports 240 CUDA cores, 80 texture units, as well as 28 ROPs. Two of these with an i7 CPU makes for a space heater. The cards processor and graphics clock speeds are 1.404 GHz and 633 MHz respectively. I bought it with the expectation of moving to SLI later, but with blocking the bays I'm not too sure. Getting it in the case blocked out a couple of my drive bays. The only problem with installation was that it's a big card. Stepping up to the 5850 and you just get ever more excessive frame rates. Stepping down to a 5770 and you can start bogging down occasionally. Crysis, is about the only thing that can strain it, but it runs it adequately at 1920x1200 as well. It can run about any game on the market adequately. Two of these in SLI will put you neck and neck with any single card currently on the market. That, to me, is really the GTX 260, but it's a negligible price differance so I stepped up to this. BFG GeForce GTX 275 OverClocked 896MB - SLI ReadyMy goal as the bottom end of the high end.
